Cowboy Bebop 25th Anniversary Edition Is 50% Off At Amazon

Beloved anime series Cowboy Bebop is now 25 years old, and to celebrate, you can grab the cult-classic sci-fi western’s sharp Blu-ray anniversary release at a 50% discount. Amazon has slashed the price in half for this edition of the anime to $32.42, a five-disc set that was originally released in April.

This edition has almost 11 hours of content, and in addition to the original 26 episode-run–or “sessions” if you want to get into the spirit of things–there are plenty of extras here. Several episodes get audio commentary, from Cowboy Bebop’s Japanese and English voice actors, the opening and closing credits can be watched without any credit overlays, there are a few trailers here to check out, and there are even a few shorts to watch.

On the fifth disc, there’s a 25-year retrospective of the show and an interview with Koichi Yamadera, originally conducted during the 20th anniversary celebrations.

If you never watched the show when it first aired from 1998-1999, Cowboy Bebop follows bounty hunters Spike Spiegel and Jet Black as they chase down fugitives across the solar system in the year 2071. Throw in amnesiac con artist Faye Valentine, hacker prodigy Radical Edward, and a genetically engineered Corgi by the name of Corgi, and you’ve got a space-western that regularly tops the lists of best anime and animated TV series.

The show even got a live-action adaptation on Netflix, but it only lasted a single season before it was canceled. For more anime, Amazon has also begun taking preorders for the fourth and final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion series, Thrice Upon a Time.
